Plot

When Cleveland beat Rallo and his friends in a basketball game, he recalled his playing periods in childhood including beating a boy named Barry Obama who Donna told him now is President Barack Obama. Cleveland took the news aloud, wondering what he had done with his life. When he ran into Kenny West dropping his daughter, Candice, at Rallo's school, he invited her to drive her to a date that Kenny agreed to play that afternoon, because he had other things to attend. When Kenny brought Candice, Rallo was glad to see him. When Cleveland forgets that Kenny will pick Candice, Candice shows Cleveland where he works; As a server in a rap-themed restaurant. Cleveland also learned that they had lived in Kenny's car and invited them to move to the garage with a gesture intended to bring Barack Obama. Kenny decided to sell his rap recording equipment and become a cable installer like Cleveland. Rallo was delighted by Candice's attention until he gradually became ambitious. Kenny's emulation of Cleveland reached the point of growing a mustache and even looked like him after Cleveland lent his shirt to him. Donna got Cleveland to see that she had taken Kenny from her element and Cleveland bought back all of Kenny's recording equipment and they wrote a new song. At first they were unlucky in promoting their new song, but when a little girl named Brandi fell into the well they rushed to do a charity concert and their song was well received, and received extra attention when, during a post-performance interview, Cleveland said " Barack Obama does not care about blacks, "causing Twitter to actually explode from the number of tweets sent about the incident. When they achieve success, Kenny fires Cleveland. On a date with Candice, Walt and another Candice friend, Rallo had enough of Candice's attitude and left the girls behind at a restaurant with every other man in the place. Cleveland told Donna about being fired by Kenny, but by then President Obama's helicopter landed on the front page and Obama challenged Cleveland for the basketball game he won and then departed. Donna tries to jump on the ship but is kicked by the secret service.

Reception

The Simpsons ' 3.7 adult rating 18-49 down 14% from last season's premiere (9/27/09). The Cleveland Show rank ' s fell 37% from the inaugural series last season. Family Guy ' s rating 4.5 leads the night, but down 15% vs last season's premiere.

Todd VanDerWerff from The A.V. Club rated episode B, stating "I laughed a few times, enjoying the idea that Cleveland had played basketball against young Barack Obama (and the fact that Obama's show was some kind of bastard in court) and Kanye West's performance as Kenny West. there are laughs graduating from light laughter. That's all smart, but nobody's inspired. The Cleveland Show , more than any other show on the animated block, feels assembled by joke writing committees, and it's painful, even in a pretty good episode like this ".
