Hearing learning is the learning style in which a person learns by listening. A hearing learner depends on hearing and speaking as the main way of learning. Hearing learners should be able to hear what is said to understand and may have difficulty with the instruction drawn but if the writing is in a logical order it can be more easily understood. They also use listening and repeating skills to sort through the information that is sent to them.

The Fleming Model VAK/VARK, one of the most common and widely used categorizations of different types of learning styles, categorizes the following types of learning styles: visual learners, learner, reading/writing-preferences, and kinesthetic learners (Also known as " tactile learner ").

Characteristics

The auditory learner may have the talent to ascertain the true meaning of one's words by listening to audible signals such as a change of tone. When memorizing a phone number, a hearing learner will say it out loud and then remember how it sounds to remember it.

Auditor learners are good at writing responses to the lectures they hear. They are also good at oral exams, effective by listening to the information delivered orally, in lectures, speeches, and oral sessions.

Proponents claim that when a verbal learner reads, it is almost impossible for the learner to understand something without a sound in the background. In this situation, listening to music or having different sounds in the background (TV, people talking, music, etc.) Will help learners work better.

The auditory learners are good at storytelling. They solve the problem by talking about it. Speech patterns include the phrase "I hear you; Click it; It sounds bells", and other voice or sound-oriented information. These learners will move their lips or speak to themselves to help complete the task.

Suggested techniques

Proponents say that teachers should use this technique to teach the hearing students: oral directions, group discussions, verbal reinforcement, group activities, reading aloud, and incorporating information into rhythmic patterns such as rap, poetry or song.

Prevalence

Auditor learners make up about 30% of the population.

Lack of evidence

Although learning styles have "enormous popularity", and children and adults express personal preferences, there is no evidence that identifying student learning styles produces better results, and there is significant evidence that the much-touted "meshing hypothesis" a student will learn best if taught in a method deemed appropriate for student learning style) is invalid. Well-designed studies "flatly contradict the popular meshing hypothesis". Rather than targeting instruction to a "right" learning style, students seem to benefit most from mixed modalities presentations, such as using visual and visual techniques for all students.
