Joseph Junior Adenuga (born 19 September 1982), better known by his stage name Skepta ââb> is an English grime artist, rapper, songwriter, record producer and director of music videos. Adenuga released their debut studio Greatest Hits at the end of 2007 and the second, Microphone Champion in 2009, both independently, while her third studio album Doin 'It Again released in 2011 by AATW. Her fourth studio album, Konnichiwa , was released on May 6, 2016 for critical acclaim, winning the Mercury Prize that year. Skepta Brothers, and labelmate is a renowned artist Jme. They have collaborated repeatedly, most recently on their album Konnichiwa . Adenuga is the brother of Beats 1 DJ Julie Adenuga.
Adenuga has stated the music of 'DIY' is the future and told Time Out magazine, "I'm not a rapper, I'm an activist." His influence on contemporary British popular culture as a key figure in the dirt scene sees him appear on Debrett's 2017 list of the most influential people in Britain.

Skepta began briefly before Meridian Crew broke up in 2005, after which Skepta, along with his brother Jme and fellow rapper Joseph Bamber joined Roll Deep for a short time before becoming founding member of Boy Better Know in 2006. 2003-06: Beginning of career, < and Hits Largest
Skepta is British Nigerian. He is the brother of fellow musician Jme and radio presenter Julie Adenuga. Skepta was originally a DJ from a Tottenham crew based on Meridian Crew . Early in his career, Skepta released a number of instrumental, the most famous being the "DTI (Pirate Station Anthem)" and "Private Caller" , the latter being released as singles and vocalists by various other members of the Meridian Crew.
Skepta began shortly to become an MC before the Meridian crew was dissolved in 2005, after which Skepta, along with her sister Jme, joined the Long Roll for a short time before becoming a founder member of Better Boy Know in 2006. After the formation of a Better Boy Know, Skepta clashed with fellow MC Devilman for DVD Lord of the Mics 2, in what is remembered as one of the biggest clashes in the history of shit. Shortly after the clash, Skepta released a mixtape titled " Joseph Junior Adenuga ". The public skeptic released his debut album Great Her Hits on September 17, 2007, on his label Better Boy Knew.
2008-11: Champion Microphone and Doin 'again
Skepta released their first single "Rolex Sweep" in September 2008 and reached number 89 on the UK Singles Chart. Skepta later released the album "Microphone Champion" on June 1, 2009. In 2012, Skepta released two singles from her upcoming fourth album. Both "Hold On" and "Make Peace Not War" are the Top 40 charting singles in the UK but are a departure from the usual Skepta sound. Skepta's second major label album was intended for release in the fourth quarter of 2011, titled The Honeymoon but was postponed until 2012. After a disappointing response from the first two singles Skepta decided to release a purchasable mixtape, titled List Black . It was released on December 2, 2012 along with a music video to support the release before its release.
In March 2014, Skepta gave a verse for "German Whip" remix by Meridian Dan, and in the same month, she released her new single, "That's Not Me", featuring her brother Jme, peaking at number 21 in the UK. chart. The Konnichiwa release was celebrated with a launch party on May 5, 2016 held in Tokyo and broadcast live in the Boiler Room, featuring live performances from all albums by Skepta and supporting performances from Japanese trap artists Kohh, Dutch Montana, Loota, and DJ Riki.
Skepta embarked on a "Banned From America" ââtwo-part, 14-gig tour on April 16, 2017 at the Coachella Valley Music and Art Festival, covering cities across the United States and Europe. The tour was named so in connection with Skepta's forced cancellation of his 2016 "No Fear" tour in support of Konnichiwa, when his appeal for entry into the United States was denied.
Skepta released Vicious EP on October 31, 2017, with songs featuring A $ AP Rocky, Lil B and Section Boyz. In the summer of 2017, rumors about the underground dance scene suggested a collaboration between Skepta and the drum'n'bass pioneer Goldie. This is confirmed in Goldie 2017's memoirs All Things Remembered , which refers to him having done a track with Skepta. It has not been released yet.

On April 4, 2018, he was appointed head of his home village of Nigeria in the state of Ogun who held the title of the head of the tribe of Amuludun of Odo-Aje .
