Furthermore, he has a recurring role as Ruby in the ABC television series Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2018). She is set to voice Spider-Woman in the upcoming Marvel superhero animated Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors (2018).

Cameron was born in Seattle, Washington as Chloe Celeste Hosterman. She is the daughter of Philip Alan Hosterman and Bonnie Wallace, who later divorced, and has an older sister, Claire Hosterman. He grew up in Bainbridge Island, Washington. When he was a kid he studied at Sakai Secondary School. At the age of 8, he started acting in a community theater at Bainbridge Performing Arts.
When she was 14 years old, her family moved to Los Angeles, California, where she sang at the National Championship Show Choir at Burbank High School. On Twitter, Cameron declares that he is of French descent and speaks with the French. He also stated that he "spent many years of his life growing up in France." He has claimed he was bullied through his entire school experience, starting in fifth grade, until the end of high school. Despite the pressures in school and the fit, he remains focused on his dream of becoming successful in entertainment: "I get really excited about [being an actress and singer].I fully immerse myself." Her father died in 2011 when she was 15 years old.

In 2007, Cameron played the role of a young Cosette in the stage production of Bainbridge Performings Arts Les Miserables, and in 2008, she had Mary's lead role in The Secret Garden, again with CPA.
In 2012, Cameron plays a role in the new Disney Channel Original Series titled Bits and Pieces as Alanna. Shortly after the filming of the pilot, Bits and Pieces returned to Liv and Maddie and saw Cameron starring in the double roles of Liv and Maddie Rooney. The preview of this series begins on July 19, 2013 ( 2013-07-19 ) , and the show airs on September 15, 2013. The inaugural episode is up 5.8 million viewers, which is the most viewers watched in 2.5 years since the series Shake It Up! Disney Channel updated Liv and Maddie for the second episode 13-episode for the premiere in Fall 2014, which later expanded to 24 episodes.
On August 27, 2013, Cameron released the cover of "On Top of the World" by Imagine Dragons as a promotional single. The cover reached the top on the Billboard Kid Digital Songs chart at the age of seventeen and spent three weeks on the chart. On October 15, 2013, "Better In Stereo" was released as a single under Walt Disney Records. "Better In Stereo" debuted on the Billboard Kid Digital Songs chart at No. 1. 21 before reaching No. 1, becoming No. 1 hit. 1 Cameron. In February 2014, Cameron confirmed reports that the recording had begun for his debut studio album. The next single, "Count Me In", was released on June 3, 2014. Cameron starred in the film Descendants premiere on July 31, 2015. The film was watched by 6.6 million people and spawned the first two Billboard Hot 100 songs from Cameron, "Rotten to the Core" at No. 1. 38 and the solo song, "If Only", in No. 94. Other songs from the film featuring Cameron such as "Set It Off" and "Evil Like Me" are mapped in No. 6 and 12 respectively in the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. The soundtrack for the film peaked over the Billboard 200 charts to become the first soundtrack of the original Disney Channel Movie since High School Musical 2 did it. In 2015, Cameron and Ryan McCartan formed a band called The Girl and the Dreamcatcher. On October 2nd, 2015, they released their first single, "Written in the Stars". The band released their second single, "Glowing in the Dark", on January 29, 2016.
The Girl and Dreamcatcher released their third single, "Someone You Like", on April 8, 2016. They released their fourth single, "Make You Stay", on June 17, 2016. The video aired on Disney Channel in July 2016. At 29 July 2016, the band released their first EP, Negatives , featuring their singles "Make You Stay" and "Glowing in the Dark" and four new songs. In October 2016, as a result of the breakup of Cameron and McCartan, the music duo broke up.
On December 22, 2015, Liv and Maddie were officially updated for the fourth season, becoming the 9th Disney Channel show in history to achieve this. Cameron began filming the season of Liv and Maddie in early 2016. It was then announced that this would be the last season of the show. The final series of Liv and Maddie is then aired on March 24, 2017.
Cameron plays the role of Amber Von Tussle on live television NBC Hairspray Live! , which aired on December 7, 2016. Reception is generally positive, and Cameron's performance is praised.
Cameron imitated his role as Mal in Descendants 2, a sequel of Descendants in 2017. The film premiered on July 21, 2017. Soundtrack Descendants 2 debuted at # 6 on the Billboard 200 , with "It's Goin 'Down" from the soundtrack that debuted at # 81. It became the third Hot 100 from Cameron, after "Rotten to the Core" and "If Only".
Cameron plays Sophie's role in Hollywood Bowl's live production Mamma Mia! . The show runs from July 28, 2017 to July 30, 2017. On August 21, 2017, Cameron was cast in the movie Dumplin, starring Jennifer Aniston. Cameron is set to play Bekah Cotter in a comedy. At the end of 2017, Cameron signed a contract to appear in a recurring role in Season 5 of Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. This role was later revealed to be Ruby, daughter of General Hale (Catherine Dent).
Cameron has expressed his desire to start releasing music and has confirmed that he has been working on his debut album in 2017. Cameron's first single, "Talks About", will be released in 2018. On March 21, 2018, he announced that he had signed a contract with Columbia Records , and that he will start releasing music after wrapping Descendants 3 .
Personal life
Cameron began dating actor and singer Ryan McCartan in 2013. They announced their engagement on April 14, 2016, but canceled it in October 2016.
