Better than sex cake , also known as Is It Really Better Than Sex? The cake, Better than Robert Redford's cake , or even Better than the Best Cakes is a cake consisting of a mixture of chocolate cake, choice maker, moist center, and whipped cream the outside part. Some versions of these recipes are very similar to the upside-down cake. The origins of the cake are unknown and the recipes have been around since the 1980s, but the recipes are gaining increasing popularity after Paula Deen has featured desserts in her series Paula's Home Cooking .
The moist center of this cake is usually made by inserting a fork into the cake several times and filling the hole with a mixture containing sugar and seasonings or fruits like pineapple. Traditionally baked using 13 by 9 by a 2 inch pan and then cooled and eaten cold. The basic recipe for the cake has been changed depending on the taste of the person who made the cake and the alternatives including the flavor of vanilla, banana, or candy.
